Package Tracking FAQ
Answers to common questions about tracking numbers, carrier scans, customs, delayed parcels, delivery estimates, and missing shipments.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my tracking number not working?
The label may be new, the first scan may be pending, a character may be incorrect, or the number may belong to another carrier. Copy it from the order page and allow the sender’s handling time.
Why has my package not moved?
Parcels can travel between facilities without public scans. Customs, weekends, weather, hub congestion, and carrier handovers also create gaps.
What does In Transit mean?
The shipment is moving through the carrier network or waiting for its next scheduled transfer. It does not mean the parcel will necessarily arrive that day.
Can PostIndex change my delivery?
No. Address changes, redelivery, pickup, claims, and payments must be handled by the responsible carrier or sender.
Who opens a missing-parcel claim?
The sender often needs to open the claim because the sender purchased the shipping service. Rules vary by carrier and service.
How long does customs clearance take?
Routine clearance may take hours or several business days. Missing documents, inspections, restricted goods, or unpaid charges can take longer.
Are delivery-time estimates guaranteed?
No. Unless the carrier explicitly sells a guaranteed service, estimates can change after customs events, weather, operational delays, or local handover.
How do I avoid delivery scams?
Open the official carrier website yourself instead of following an unexpected payment or redelivery link. Never share passwords or payment details with an unverified site.
