How carrier detection works

PostIndex checks the length, prefix, suffix and letter-number structure of the code. International postal items frequently use the S10-style structure of two letters, nine digits and a two-letter country suffix. Courier numbers may use a recognizable prefix such as 1Z or YT.

Yes. Numeric-only codes frequently overlap. Check the store’s shipping details and compare results with the carrier page.

Does the country suffix show the destination?

Not necessarily. On international postal numbers, the final letters normally identify the postal administration that issued the number, not always the delivery destination.

Why is my number not recognized?

The shipment may use a regional courier, a new format or an order reference instead of a carrier tracking number.
